Transmission Rebuild with New Foundations
Ohio | 2024
Hydaker-Wheatlake crews successfully completed the rebuild of a 345 kV double circuit. The project involved digging and pouring three new foundations, each 60 feet deep and 12 feet in diameter, setting three new engineered poles standing 180 feet tall, transferring and resagging of 345 kV bundle conductor, pulling new wire into the substation, and making jumpers. Additionally, crews dismantled an old lattice tower for removal from the site. Despite the tight schedule, the crew completed the project safely and on time.
